Fender F55-12
Hi, i have a Fender F55 12 string with a serial number of 722015.
Has anybody any ideas on the exact age of this guitar?
Thanks
Griff
I have since found out that it's somewhere between 1972 and 1980 but can't get more specific than that.

Registered just to help you out!
It's a 72, the earliest! You can tell by the first two numbers in the serial number.
I would LOVE to get my hands on one of these.

Unfortunately its the only guitar i have left after selling the rest many years ago so i wont be
parting company with it,
but thanks again for the info.

The "first 2 numbers of serial no." therory doesnt quite work here does it. Needs a bit more
investigation i think. "Unglued at the endish" sounds painful, great guitars tho, just out of curoisity did you buy it new or used?

I Have one I am most unfortunately looking to sell, serial #793327, if this might interest you (or anyone else on the forum) I can send photos. I have owned this one for the past 8 years, the last 2 of which were in storage....
I hate to sell it as it was a dream for me to finally get a good acoustic 12 string after 10+ years, but money is tight right now.

Hi difference_3ngine,

Thats a very good question and one i have been looking into for awhile as apparently Fender did not archive the serial numbers of these guitars, see http://www.fender.com/support/acoustics.php .
I will keep you posted if i find anything.
